[Rigf_program] Optional Tour Jul 20-21 - Straw Poll

Actually one really fantastic idea that came out of the Christchurch
disaster recovery is the idea of an "ISP in a brief case". We saw the
actual result of this at the NZNOG meeting this year, a clever set of
cellular, sattelite and other connectivity modules, all linked to local
wi-fi access points, using batteries and solar panels and a few little
bits of smarts to link it all together.

Sadly, the briefcase is so intensely wired up that it would show up as
probably being a bomb in airport security, otherwise I would have tried
to bring it along to Japan.

It would be great to know if there were any similar concepts that came
out from the Japan disaster that were similar?

Cheers

Keith
