We have several friends<br>and partners in India, who we continue to work with virtually. However, when<br>it comes to any face to face meeting or interaction, it becomes too<br>challenging and exclusionary… though its only political situation to be<br>blamed for. <br><br>APrIGF is now shaping up to be a very important regional IG forum, where<br>many of us are keen to contribute and participate. We flagged visa issue<br>only for the reason that if it has to happen in India, some concrete<br>solutions can be put in place to minimize the possibility of exclusion of<br>neighboring countries. Following figures that you mentioned only reaffirms<br>our point of view. <br><br>You are right and for that matter, I would call several EU processes<br>exclusionary too precisely due to visa issues. We have to<br>bring participative approach and overlook any country specific issues for<br>conducting global events. In brief, issues particularly related to one or<br>two country's relationship should not deter to finalize venues. In a<br>lighter vein every second venue may have this or similar challenge. Having<br>said that, I would not absolve myself from the responsibility of helping the<br>members for the visa. I had done the same in the past.<br><br>India has over 900 million mobile subscriber and majority of them either on<br>or moving to smart phones for date. Further Indian Government have invested<br>4-5 Billion USD on Rural India Broadband project (BBNL) with a target of 600<br>Million Broadband users by 2020. Presently 150 million + Internet Users.
