<br></div><div>For many of us in south Asian countries, visa processes are more exclusionary than anything else. We feel that a regional event in India may result in exclusion of quite a few of us e.g. participants from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh etc. In the past, for Hyderabad IGF also, Pakistanis were unable to attend because of cross border tensions. </div>

Given the introduction of the new competition, I would second Fouad's view</div><div>on the criterion of readiness. Rajesh and ISPAI had been pursuing the bid</div><div>to host an APrIGF for two years now. They have also attended various</div>
<div>meetings and know what is expected in one of our meetings. The bid from</div><div>the University of Philippines Cebu is very encouraging but I think it has</div><div>underestimated the support--eg translation, live transcribing, live</div>
<div>webcast--that we have come to expect.</div><div><br></div><div>It would be good if Espinosa, who submitted the bid, be informed of the</div><div>support expected and if he could attend the meeting in Seoul so he knows</div>
